Barlow Worm composting uses composted cow manure as the base and food source for the Eisenia Fetida earthworm, commonly known as the red wiggler. The manure is hot composted to a temp above 140 degrees F to kill potential pathogens and weed seeds before feeding to our worms. Our worm castings provide a rich organic fertilizer full of microbial life. Thousands of beneficial microorganisms that include bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and nematodes live in the worm castings. These microorganisms are the building block of healthy soil and vegitation. BENEFITS OF USING OUR WORM TEA 1)Improve plant and lawn growth 2) Deeper root system due to increased available nutrients 3) Reduction in water loss by improving water-holding capacity in the soil 4) Enhances germination, plant growth and crop yield 5) Improves the physical structure of soil 6) No risk of burning or plants or lawn 7) Environmentally friendly 8) Safe for children and pets 9) Odor free 10) Natural pest repellant The worm tea you create is a natural superfood for plants and an excellent lawn fertilizer. DIRECTIONS: One of our tea bags brew 5 gallons of vermicompost “worm” tea. Simply steep the tea bag in 5 gallons of water for 24 hours. For best results aerate the tea while brewing for 24 hours. This will stimulate the growth of millions of microbes during the brewing process, but is not required. This can be accomplished using an aquarium pump or an air compressor. We recommend adding one tablespoon of unsulphered molasses or honey to help feed the microbes while the tea is brewing. If your water is chlorinated, let sit for 24 hours before brewing worm tea to let the chlorine dissipate. Use a watering pale, pump sprayer or dial sprayer to apply the worm tea to your plants, garden or lawn. If fertilizing your lawn with worm tea we recommend 20 gallons per acre, four times a year. You may use the tea as is or dilute 1 to 1 with water.
