What tools do I need to prepare before installation?

A power drill (or hammer Drill), a pair of good wire cutters, a measuring tape, and a marker pen. We understand that installation can be a hassle, which is why we provide detailed, illustrated paper tutorials to make the process as easy as possible.

What size is the drill bit?

The package includes a drill bit for the electric drill which has a diameter of 8mm. If you’re using a hammer drill and don’t have a drill chuck adapter, a 5/16-inch metric drill bit (≈ 7.93mm) can be used as an alternative.

How much the spacing between hubs should be?

To ensure proper tensioning of the wire rope, the distance between installation points for cross-head hubs should not exceed 60 inches, while for cylindrical hubs, it should not exceed 20 inches.

When cutting the wire rope, it tends to fray. Do you have any advice?

The 7×7 aircraft cable offers a strong and flexible structure, but it is also prone to fraying during cutting. The best way is to use a high-quality cutter to prevent fraying. Or you can try wrapping tape around the cutting area to minimize fraying.

What is the difference between this kit and the Classic Heavy-Duty Kit?

They both feature the same-sized cross clamps, allowing them to securely hold 1/8″ wire ropes. However, this kit has a shorter and slimmer rod compared to the heavy-duty kit, making it easier to install but with a lower weight-bearing capacity.
