This 1980s Bedding Trend Is Coming Back, and We’re All for It

Bedrooms in the 1980s famously had a lot going on—neon pink, oversized posters, memorabilia galore—but there was one detail that still resonates today: ruffly patterned bed skirts. Bedding brand Piglet in Bed has made a little discovery regarding what people are searching for right now. Valances (basically the British term for a bed skirt) are the fifth most-searched word on the site. In fact, queries for the term have skyrocketed 734% since December, along with a 47% increase for “floral” products year on year

Apparently, we’re all looking for something cute to help lull us to snoozetown. The bonus? Billowy bed skirts instantly disguise any piles of clutter you’ve shoved under your bed. In the spirit of frills, we found five stylish ones that have wiggled their way into our hearts.
